Lovingly handcrafted. In Maine, USA. Packaged beautifully.

  • Just as we encourage children to create with their hands, so do we. We are artists, musicians, sculptors and woodworkers. The feel of the wood being turned, the smell of the sawdust are all part of the Claymates experience, of our offering to you. Details matter. That’s why the figures have ridges to better hold the clay, and the wood boxes are dovetailed.

  • Claymates figures are hand turned on a lathe in a woodshop that’s been in family existence since 1911. Similar to a potter’s wheel, a lathe continuously rotates the piece of wood, allowing it to be cut into sculptural forms using hand-held tools. Our conscious decision to manufacture the figures in the USA from sustainable wood is a nod to the future our children will inherit.

  • Everything in its place! Montessori principles prompt our packaging. Plus, we are parents, too. We know kids thrive (and

grown-ups appreciate) when toys are organized, and storage comes built-in. To that end, Claymates offers 3 different types of shipshape packaging that stores the play-clay away.

    • Deluxe, dovetailed wood boxes with plexi lids

    • Natural 100% cotton canvas drawstring pouches

    • Sturdy, rigid, USA-made cardboard lid/tray boxes (coming soon!)

  • Claymates stands poised to break into an impacted toy and arts & crafts market with something truly new — a feat in an overcrowded industry. Claymates is patent-pending. The only clay role-play toy of its kind. There is really nothing like it on the market.

  • Our clay is non-toxic, non-hardening, non-drying, non-staining — non-worrying!

Conforms to ASTM D-4236 and is ACMI (Arts & Creative Materials Institute) Certified. Passes all USA and the more stringent EC European safety regulations.

  • To make shopping from the comfort of your home uncomplicated, we love showing our appreciation for your time and order with complimentary standard shipping to your doorstep.
